Wedding photography is amazing, and an integral part of any wedding day but while it does capture all the details and moments, it does lack movement. They cannot capture the moment your mom bursts into tears during the ceremony, or the dad jokes your father will make during his speech. They cannot capture your stumbling and fumbling during the first dance due to emotions and nervousness, nor can they capture your guests’ reactions to any of these.
Thankfully, that’s what wedding videography is for.
What’s the best way to surprise your guests with a video of the Big Day? There are two main paths here, and we have some suggestions for the best plan of attack.
- Option one is to surprise them during the actual wedding reception. Talk to our videographers and we can quickly pull up a few scenes of the wedding ceremony and wedding preparations and create a short, emotional Same Day Edit video with you. Display this during the reception as a special moment, but don’t tell your guests about it – they will love re-watching the ceremony (and what happened before it) and they will love seeing themselves as part of the story!
- Option two is to surprise them by sending them a link to the Highlight video online (or even a DVD with the video on it!) together with your Thank You notes. This will show your guests just how much their presence at your wedding means to you and how thankful you are to have them in your life! Of course, since some time will pass between the actual wedding and the moment you send your Thank You notes, we will be able to put together a longer, more polished video for you and your guests to enjoy.
How to decide between these two ideas? Well, if you want everything to happen on the spot and if you want to see your guests’ reactions, then definitely go for the first option. If you want the final result to be more polished and act as a souvenir of the Big Day, the second option is probably better for you.
Whatever you decide, remember to talk about this to us well ahead of time! We can pull this off really well, but we need to be prepared – so don’t hesitate to openly communicate with us! We look forward to capturing your special day!
